Dein Märchen, Deine Geschichte wird gesucht und präsentiert!

Im Rahmen der Ausstellung "Wunderbare Begebenheiten und andere Märchen" (weitere Infos unter 4.) rufen FILTER und GENERAL PUBLIC Interessierte auf bis zum 1.11.2007 zeitgenössischen Märchen und Geschichten per Email oder Post an die FILTER-Adresse zu senden (Begrenzung: max. 5 DIN A 4 Seiten, DVDs möglich, keine 3D Werke).
Alle Einsendungen sind während der Ausstellung einzusehen. Eine Auswahl von den eingesendeten Märchen und Geschichten werden am 11.11. (15-17 Uhr) vorgestellt, wenn nicht sogar vom Märchenerzähler persönlich. Spätere Einsendungen versuchen wir noch zu berücksichtigen.

  01.11.2007 Ausstellungen auf der Alten Nahebrücke in Bad Kreuznach
Seit Sommer 2003 finden diese Ausstellungen jährlich statt. Für 2008 wird die nächste Ausstellung geplant. Auftakt der Ausstellung ist eine Vernissage, die vom Verein „Kunstgalerie Alte Nahebrücke e.V.“ gestaltet wird.
Ausstellungsdauer: 15. April bis 20. Oktober 2008.
Es sollen zwei Künstler mit je drei Großplastiken bis zu einem Gewicht von je 500 kg und mit max. 5 m Höhe gezeigt werden. Die Materialien müssen den Witterungsbeanspruchungen widerstehen können. Die Podeste zur Präsentation der Werke sind vorhanden.
Verkäufe sind mit einer Provision von 20 % des Bruttoverkaufspreises zu Gunsten des Vereins „Kunstgalerie Alte Nahebrücke e.V.“ zu tätigen. Die Arbeiten müssen bis zum Ende der Ausstellung auf der Brücke bleiben.

residency is the Wall House itself, the iconic house designed by John Hejduk, which
has its own studio space.

How to apply
If you are an emerging artist or architect with a specific interest in themes connected
with designed space, particularly with the poetics of designed space, you
may apply for a period of residence. Applications need to contain at least a written proposal of what you plan to work at during the period of residence, and a complete resume (Curriculum Vitae) of yourself, including visual references of your work.
This resume should contain an overview of your work, your education, publications, exhibitions, built work, et cetera. The proposal should be approximately 500 words, in English, and should deal with any form of research on the poetics of designed space (in the broadest sense of the words). The visual references can either be sent in as pdf or jpg.
The residency period lasts a maximum of 3 months. Part of the period of residence will consist of a (any) form of co-operation with other architects, artists or institutions (eg. by giving lectures, master classes or starting a joint project) in Groningen. The residency period will be concluded with a presentation of your work.
Deadlines for applications are June 1 and November 1 each year. Residents will receive a monthly allowance.

The east side of Stavanger, Norway is expanding rapidly, incorporating culture, business and residents. The city's habits and patterns are changing at a speedy rate but what kind of changes does this imply? Looking at the route that starts at Nytorget, Pedersgata
ending up at Tou Scene, this project invites artists, citizens, city planners and local businesses to comment the route, a 15-minute walk. We hope these comments will highlight the route as an extraordinary experience/walk in itself and question and explore this specific environment.
CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Creative people from all artistic fields are invited to propose work inspired by sites on this route. The selected artists will be offered a 10 days research period developing work in Stavanger followed by a 5- day showing/event and 2 days of aftermath. The artists will be sharing their process and working methods during the workshops and participate in worktasks, lectures and a seminar as a shared process. Each artist selects a site that will be negotiated with the curators and the local residents. Private homes, shop windows, the public restrooms of the old square, a street corner and a bush can all become hosts for artistic triggers and the work be everything from alternative road signs, ephemeral shops/temporary cafés, people as places/sites, walk in cinema etc. Work can result in installations, interactions, sound pieces and live work, the sky is the limit and we hope to get surprised, shocked or amazed by your suggestions! Dialektus aims to screen films, which are sensitive to other cultures, films that present the world as filmmakers see it. Dialektus is a European documentary festival, which aims to make documentary and anthropological film accessible to a wider audience, not just on T.V.
For five days in March 2008 we will screen competitive and non-competitive films representing the diversity of European documentary filmmaking. The Festival will include special retrospectives, discussions with filmmakers and Q&A sessions on documentary film distribution along side photography exhibitions and free concerts.

The first three editions of Lausanne Jardins took place in 1997, 2000 and 2004. Dedicated to gardening art in the city, these events shed a new light onto some of the Lausanne's forgotten areas. They also brought to front the city's impressive patrimony of parks and green spaces, well integrated to its urban fabric. The festivals also contributed to promoting landscape design, in phase with the growing interest in Europe for the gardening arts.
For its 2009 edition, the Lausanne Jardins projects will spread along four pedestrian paths - or loops - configured around the m 2 subway line. This new north-south connection of the upper part of the city to the lake is bound to affect people's understanding of the town, modifying daily life in Lausanne. Four pedestrian loops will be linked to subway stations. Going up, the subway will provide access to each loop, which will then be explored downwards, by foot. This choice of scenario installs a dual mode of perception, moving alternately form underground spaces to a landscape open to the Lake and the Alps. http://www.lausannejardins.ch

Gestaltungswettbewerb für Menschen mit HIV und Aids zu Thema: "immer ist jetzt"
Eine unabhängige Jury wählt 13 Bilder aus, die zusammen mit einem Online-Publikumsoreis im Rahmen der Münchner Aids-Tage, die vom 14.-16. März 2008 zu Gast in Berlin sind, ausgezeichnet werden.
Alle, die selbst von HIV oder Aids betroffen sind oder einem Menschen nahe stehen, der infiziert ist und mitmachen wollen, füllen einfach die Ausschreibungsunterlagen (im Ordner in der Bib) aus und schicken und ihr Bild zum Thema "immer ist jetzt".
Der erste Preisträger erhält 1.500 Euro, der zweite 1.000 Euro, der dritte und der Gewinner des Online-Publikumspreises jeweils 800 Euro. Zehn Anerkennungen werden mit jeweils 400 Euro dotiert.

-offered program: Der gemeinnützige Verein Future In Common e.V. organisiert eine
Fotoausstellung mit dem Titel "Generation TO GO", für die junge talentierte und originelle Fotografe aus Deutschland, Russland und Belarus gesucht werden.
Das Ziel des Projektes „Generation TO GO“ besteht in der Mobilisierung von jungen kreativen Menschen aus Deutschland, Russland und Belarus zur gemeinsamen Durchführung sozialer und kultureller Veranstaltungen. Die Teilnehmer des Projektes sind durch ihre Zugehörigkeit zu der Generation verbunden, die durch den Zerfall der Sowjet Union und die Wiedervereinigung von Deutschland geprägt ist.
Der erste Schritt zur Verwirklichung des Projektes ist die Organisation und Durchführung einer Reihe von Fotoausstellungen an denen junge Fotografen aus Belarus, Deutschland und Russland teilnehmen und die in Belarus (Minsk) und in Deutschland (Stuttgart, Heidelberg, Tübingen, Karlsruhe und Freiburg) stattfinden. Die an diesen Ausstellungen
teilnehmenden jungen Fotografen versuchen in ihren Werken die schwierige Aufgabe der Selbstreflexion zu bewältigen. Mit Hilfe verschiedener fotografischer Ausdrucksmittel schaffen sie als Vertreter einer Generation der Transformationszeit die Bilder, die den Geist dieser Generation widerspiegeln.
Was die Motive der Fotos angeht, sind wir für jede Interpretationen des knappen Konzepts, das wir als Orientierung angegeben haben, offen. Wir haben die thematischen Anforderungen bewußt offen gestaltet, um möglichst viel verschiedene Ansätze zum Thema zu erhalten.

'CARTES Flux' calls for digital artists and filmmakers to participate in the selection for the festival of screenings. The next 'CARTES Flux' will take place in May 2008 and is hosted by the Centre for Art and Technology CARTES, Espoo, Finland.
Rules:
The theme of your film is open but the films should have been completed within the three previous years, 2004-2007. The focus of the selection will concentrate on the innovative use of the digital technology converging the subject matter. Especially non-linear and philosophical approaches are encouraged. Preferred length is 15 mins. or shorter. The
films have to be submitted in DVD PAL. The films with dialogue in other than English, Finnish or Swedish should be subtitled in English.
There will also be a call for installations, which will be published shortly. ...

Concept: The number in the title of this exhibition aims to a 13th time range which could be located between December and January according to our calendar and its 12 month rhythm. You can hear the saying “between the years” which is a colloquial expression for a certain downtime in which often “tabula rasa” is being held. In the New Year this can have results in terms of personal, commercial or visionary matters.
As an institution for visual arts we would like to offer artists this kind of time, even though only as a theoretical value. The “in between” is highlighted. A not scaleable but recognisable time range can be detected and can be visually represented. Topics like “clearing”, “catharsis”, “time out”, “break” or “speed limitation” according to private and commercial issues are getting important. Also some number immanent associations caused by cultural or individual imprint and connected with 12 or 13 can be relevant for the work. The theories of sets or a break between natural numbers are mathematical approaches to the “dozen and a half” or the “twelve comma five”. Also “12,5” could have the meaning of an rating for a sporty achievement. The human loves to measure, size and value, doesn’t he?

Das seit 1996 bestehende und 2005 erweiterte Alfred-Toepfer-Stipendienprogramm fördert die Abschlussphase eines Studiums, eines Aufbaustudiums oder einer Promotion an einer Hochschule in Deutschland. The Roma Pavilion International Award for Young Curators and Art Critics
Theme: Paradise Lost - The First Roma Pavilion
Organized by:
The Roma Cultural Participation Project of the Arts and Culture Network Program, Open Society Institute, Budapest.
The Award:
The Roma Pavilion International Award for Young Curators and Art Critics will award a prize of € 1,500 for the best - most thorough, analytical and constructively critical - review written about Paradise Lost–The First Roma Pavilion by a young curator and/or art critic of contemporary art. The authors should consider the wider theoretical context behind the idea of this transnational representation of a strong cultural identity. What is expected is not only a review about the Pavilion, but a critical survey on the connected topics of 'transnational community', 'historical globalized nation', and the issues around the representation of the minority 'community' and 'plural identity' in the modern nation-state.
The submitted review could be an already published critical essay about the Roma Pavilion or one written specifically for this purpose. Should the prize be won by a group of authors the prize will be divided among them equally.
Eligibility requirements:
Each candidate may submit only one essay only for the competition. The call is open to curators of all nationalities born on or after January 1, 1972 - the age limit is 35 years. Should the submitted review be the work of more than one author, all the authors must meet the age requirement. Submissions will be accepted upon the timely receipt of the application documents. Competition Description:
The CINEMATIC CD FILM2MUSIC COMPETITION is currently inviting filmmakers across the world to create a short film to a track of their choice from the CD CINEMATIC. Cinematic is instrumental music by composer Kubilay Uner intended to evoke vivid images and evolving
stories.
Any visual style or format is permissible in the submitted films - live action or animation, realistic or abstract. However, nothing besides the unedited music may be used in the soundtrack.
The Grand Prize is $10,000; two Second Prizes are set at $1,000 each. A panel of six internationally renowned filmmakers will determine those winners:
writer/director MICHAEL POLISH (Northfork), producers CLARK PETERSON (Monster), JACKIE GEORGE (Demolition Man), JAMES C. HART (CSI), Disney Animation's DAVE BOSSERT (Fantasia 2000) and cinematographer M. DAVID MULLEN, ASC (Akeelah and the Bee.)
In addition to the juried prizes, a worldwide Internet audience will vote for one Online Audience Award winner, who will receive $5,000. More information, official rules and the opportunity to listen to the music are available at the competition website at www.film2music.com.

LACDA 2006 INTERNATIONAL JURIED COMPETITION
Open Call For Digital Art And Photography
LACDA announces our juried competition for digital art and photography. Entrants submit three JPEG files of original work. All styles of 2D artwork and photography where digital processes of any kind were integral to the creation of the images are acceptable. The competition is international, open to all geographical locations.
The selected winner receives 10 prints up to 44x60 inches on canvas or museum quality paper (approximately a $1500-$2000 value) to be shown in a solo exhibition in our main gallery from December 14, 2006-January 6, 2007. The show will be widely promoted and will include a reception for the artist.
Second place prizes: Five second place winners will receive one print of their work up to 24x36 inches ($150-$200 in value) to be included in upcoming group shows. Second place winners will be scheduled into group shows within twelve months of announcement of winners. Consideration is given to placing these works in shows appropriate to their style, genre and/or content. These shows will be widely promoted and will include a reception for the artists.
Special consideration will be given to all entrants for inclusion in future shows at LACDA. Many entrants from past competitions have already been included in our exhibits.

2006/2007 Kevelaer/Niederrhein
Die Stadt Kevelaer beabsichtigt, im innerstädtischen, öffentlichen Raum erneut eine Skulpturenausstellung durchzuführen. Bis zu 20 Skulpturen sollen im Rahmen der Sculptura V für die Dauer von ca. 18 Monaten im Herzen Kevelaers ausgestellt werden. Es werden bis zu 17 Teilnehmer/innen in einem offenen Wettbewerb ermittelt.
Jede/r kann sich mit bis zu drei (mittel- oder) großformatigen Plastiken zur Teilnahme an der Wechselausstellung bewerben. Sollten Sie daran interessiert sein, ein Exponat für die Sculptura V innerhalb von 14 Tagen vor Ort in Kevelaer zu erstellen, so bitten wir Sie, dies in Ihrer Bewerbung zu erwähnen. Stipendium Junge Kunst der Stadt Lemgo 2006
Seit 1987 wird jährlich das Stipendium Junge Kunst im Rahmen eines Wettbewerbs an eine Bildende Künstlerin oder einen Bildenden Künstler vergeben. Das Stipendium wird von der Alten Hansestadt Lemgo und der STAFF STIFTUNG ausgeschrieben. Bewerben können sich Bildende Künster/innen der Bereiche Malerei, Grafik, Skulptur und Fotografie mit Wohnsitz in Deutschland bis 35 Jahre.
Für die Dauer eines Jahres steht der Stipendiatin/dem Stipendiaten ein Atelierhaus im Zentrum der Stadt kostenlos zur Verfügung. Darüber hinaus wird ein monatlicher Unterhaltskostenzuschuss gezahlt. Am Ende des Stipendiumsaufenthalts findet eine Ausstellung in der Städtischen Galerie statt. Das Stipendium beginnt am 1. Mai eines Jahres und endet am 30. April, die Stipendiatin/der Stipendiat verpflichtet sich, in dieser Zeit in Lemgo zu leben und zu arbeiten.

Research Fellow in Colour Imaging
A Research Fellow is required to join the Centre for Colour Design
Technology to work on colour and imaging-related projects. You will engage
in several industrially funded research projects; some supervision of
research students; development of algorithms for camera calibration and
colour analysis using MATLAB; and assist in the preparation of research
grants and research papers. You will have a good first degree in colour,
imaging or textiles science and a PhD in colour science. This post is
available for a fixed term period of 12 months starting on 1 January 2006.

Reflexion über Europa: Ausschreibung für NGOs, Vereine und Verbände
Im Rahmen ihrer "Partnerschaft mit der Zivilgesellschaft" fördert die Europäische Kommission die aktive europäische Bürgerschaft und veröffentlicht hierzu jährlich Aufforderungen zur Einreichung von Vorschlägen a) von Nichtregierungsorganisationen und b) von Vereinen und Verbänden.
Die Projektvorschläge sollen zur Reflexion und Diskussion über die Konsolidierung der Europäischen Union und/oder zur Förderung und Verbreitung ihrer Werte und Ziele beitragen. Förderfähig sind u.a. Konferenzen, Seminare, Workshops, Vernetzung, Austausch von Erfahrungen und vorbildlichen Praktiken, Bildungs- und Berufbildungsangebote und -strategien, Verbreitungsaktivitäten, die in jedem Falle in Partnerschaften zwischen Organisationen durchgeführt werden. Die max. Laufzeit der Projekte ist 12 Monate.
Der Zuschuss beträgt max. 60% der gesamten Projektkosten. Projektvorschläge von NGOs auf nationaler Ebene können 35.000 - 45.000 Euro beantragen, internationale Partnerschaften 70.000 Euro. Projekte von Vereinen und Verbänden von europäischem Interesse werden mit max. 35.000 Euro gefördert.
