A design competition for young designers from all
design disciplines.
Between March and September 2007 there will be a certain kind of current flowing towards Halle from all directions as part of a design competition. This current will be taking on all kinds of forms and shapes, and flow back to one meeting point in Halle. An extreme tension will build up as this energy has a special make-up and and is expected to become visible in the most different manifestations. The tension will be released in November 2007 on the occasion of the award presentation and then in a follow-up exhibition.

Intervention in a Supermarket of Murcia (Spain). The project Video- carros forms part of the festival alter-arte07, [festival of emerging art of the region of Murcia], from 1-7 of October. Alter-Arte will edit a catalogue with DVD, where the selected works will be published.

The shopping trolleys of a supermarket are transformed during a week in video-trolleys, transmitting video-creations dealing about consumption; Call for documentations of activist actions, culture-jamming, sub-vertizing, documentaries, and other works, that analyse in a critical way our habits of consumption. The works will be installed inside a centric supermarket of Murcia (Spain).

Funded by AFCN (Administratia Fondului Cultural National/ National Cultural Fund Administration)
The second edition of NOMAD (Load/Flow/Mix) urban video festival will take place from the 3rd until the 7th of October 2007 in Tineretului Park and Herastrau Park, Bucharest.
The event has three sections: NOMAD FLOW-local and international video artists' presentations; NOMAD MIX – audio-visual section (musicians and VJs); NOMAD LOAD – a series of site-specific video interventions in changing locations.

The aim of NOMAD (Load/Flow/Mix) is to present video art creations in situ in non-cultural environments.
The festival is trying to reach a more diverse and wider audience, to bring the latest trends in contemporary video art to a park, a public leisure area. Thus, the encounter with contemporary art becomes more interactive and open for discussion.
NOMAD is waiting for submissions from young artists for NOMAD Flow and /or NOMAD Load on video CD or video DVD.

2008: Man With a Movie Camera is a global remake of Vertov's 1929 film (Man With A Movie Camera) using the web to archive, sequence. Submissions will be shown at the Big Screen Manchester UK http://www.bbc.co.uk/bigscreens/ on October 11 during the Urban Screens 07 Conference, with more public venues in the UK and in Melbourne, Australia through 2008.

http://dziga.perrybard.net/ has a scene index and every shot of Vertov's film is logged, with an intro to the project. The scene index and shot list are there for reference : this doesn't have to be a copy, it can be a 21st century version inspired by the original.
However the timing is important. So, if you choose a scene that's 46 seconds long it should be in the general area of 46 seconds, the particular shots within that scene, the edit, are how you decide to make them.

1.) Please log onto the website and see what might interest you to shoot (scenes or shots) or what footage you might have that will fit.

2.) Please forward the info. Upload will begin in August. At time of upload there will be slots for your name, city, country, url if you have one. No titles please on the footage you submit as it will stream as a film. All submissions will be credited and will appear on all publicity.

LAND GRAB ONLINE seeks to display artworks that explicitly address the naming and claiming of space.
What does it mean to claim a piece of land today? Is it legitimate to desire a place of one’s own? As real estate prices skyrocket throughout the world, it is increasingly difficult to retain a space and place.
LAND GRAB ONLINE welcome submissions including - but not limited to - issues of land ownership, real estate acquisitions, squatting on private or public property, citizenship and colonialism. The projects included for this online showing need not occupy actual space; they can also exist as virtual projects or as ideas for projects that may
or may not be feasible in a physical location.
Among other questions, LAND GRAB ONLINE aims to consider whether the possession, occupation or designation of a site alters the place itself. The project also aims to ponder what the place of art is in an increasingly global world where artists, like many others, are
more and more on the move. Might some artists and artworks contradict such a tendency, perhaps expressing the desire to instead linger, settle and stay put?
LAND GRAB ONLINE is part of the project LAND GRAB - culminating in an exhibition at the renowned non-profit art institution APEXART in New York (Nov. 7 - Dec. 22, 2007). In the months leading up to the physical exhibition, the curators are seeking online submissions for LAND GRAB ONLINE - the virtual counterpart to the onsite show.
A planned LAND GRAB publication will include selections from both LAND GRAB and LAND GRAB ONLINE.

Nodar Guest Studio (NOGS) Annual Art Residency Program

The International Film Festival Ofensiva has already become an inseparable part of cultural events in Wroclaw. It attracts more and more attention, reputation and popularity every year, both in Poland and abroad. We kindly welcome everybody interested in the art of film to participate in this event: the film-makers to send us their works for the Competition and the public to come and take the opportunity to contact the professional masterpieces of audiovisual work. Festival Ofensiva is not only the Contest. During the Festival projections of “New National Cinema” and “World’s Festivals” will be played. The Art Interview - 10th International Online Artist Competition is an international, juried exhibition of paintings, drawings and sculptures in any medium. The artists selected for the Common Ground Collection 2008 of limited edition museum quality prints will be featured in a media relations campaign

A portion of all revenues will be donated to support selected environmental projects around the world.
