Das Genre des Musikvideos ist nun auf der Suche nach einer neuen Heimat um seine Vielfalt erhalten zu können. So entstand die Idee eine Kino-Plattform für Musikvideos und ihre Macher zu entwickeln. Am Vorabend der Popkomm (Dienstag, den 19.09 um 21.00 Uhr) wird deshalb das Kino babylon berlin:mitte in Kooperation mit der Labelcommission Berlin zum ersten Mal ein Programm mit aktuellen Musikvideos aus Berlin präsentieren. Eingereicht werden können Musikvideos, die nach dem 01.01.2005 entweder in Berlin produziert worden sind, von in Berlin ansässigen Produzenten, Regisseuren, Künstlern und/oder Musikern hergestellt wurden oder von Berliner Labels stammen. The exhibition deals with current artistic positions within digital media and net cultures. We will present productions which – using new media as a cultural tool – aim for a better understanding of today’s society, thus also being able to utter criticism in order to redesign society. We are eager to see works highlighting and scrutinising the decisive role of new technologies in the development and the perception of presentday culture. This year’s exhibition will focus on the idea of a ‘net behind the net’ which can mean both the digital behind the social net, and the social behind the digital net. Paraflows (the Greek prefix ‘para’ meaning: beside, near, moreover) emanates from the main motors of freedom of the net and its para-experts, the wikipedias and slashdots of all areas within which consumers help each other voluntarily to become and remain critical users and experts in their fields. 5th Hull International Short Film Festival We need dedicated/responsible individuals for this years film festival running from the 27th Sept - 1st Oct 2006. As well as the festival Hull Film will be running the Trailers programme. TRAILERS will consist of shipping containers placed around the City of Hull; all containing projected moving image works. Two of the containers will house specially commissioned works. The containers will be open to the public for the duration of the 5th Hull International Short Film Festival.
