Each year Franklin Furnace awards grants in two categories. The Franklin Furnace Fund for Performance Art supports emerging performace artists, allowing them to produce major works in New York. The Future of the Present funds the creation of "live art on the Internet," works which engage the Internet as an art medium and/or venue. Grants from either fund range between $2000 and $5000. Artists from all areas of the world are encouraged to apply.

Platform for Young Art
at the Interface Performance - Theatre
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
For the fifth time in a row the arthouse zeitraum_ex!t offers artists a platform to present their work.
""frisch eingetroffen"" (just in) is directed to artists who are at the beginning of their career or who try to test new approaches in their artistic career.
""frisch eingetroffen"" focuses on the exploration of new territories in art and on the juxtaposition of two approaches: performance-art and theatre.
The selected works are presented in the framework of a two-days event.
Dates: Friday, July 7th and Saturday, July 8th, 2006, 8 p.m.
Applications can be made by performers and theatre artists with:
Projects with 1 to 2 actors (no recitals, no comedy-programmes or scenic readings). There is no age limit as going new ways does not depend on age.
Technical an spatial prerequisits:
We cannot offer the usual technical theatre equipment. The playing area is about 3 to 5 m2 and 3 ms high (ceiling). It is possible to provide for a simple illumination equipment (maximum: 10 x 500 m3). There is also the opportunity to play or to perform in a small yard. The projects should not be longer than 20 - 60 minutes and should only need small equipment, as it is intended to present several works every night.
zeitraum_ex!t Büro für Kunst can only provide for parts of the equipment needed for projects with video projections.
The organisers will cover the travel costs and costs of accommodation; there is no further payment.
Applications should consist of a short CV; photos or videos; concept/description of the work submitted; details with regard to length, technical requirements as well as a self-addressed and prepaid envelope.

In 2006, the Stadtsparkasse Magdeburg’s Arts and Culture Foundation is announcing its tenth support grant for the visual arts in the amount of € 12,000.
The prize awarded by the jury to an artist includes a grant in the amount of € 1,000 per month as well as:
• a rent free studio provided by the city of Magdeburg,
rent free use of an apartment provided by the housing cooperative Stadt Magdeburg von 1954 eG,
organization and financing of an exhibition at the art museum in the Cloister of Our Lady in Magdeburg at the end of the grant period and
• an exhibition catalog.
German and foreign artists may apply for the grant. Artists from Saxony-Anhalt are especially encouraged to apply. The grant year begins on October 1, 2006.

STUDIO RESIDENCY: MAY 31 - JUNE 30, 2006
The Moon and Stars Project presents the 2nd year of the Summer Residency Program with the School of Visual Arts (SVA) between May 31-June 30, 2006.
The program is open for artists residing in Turkey. Applications must be received by Friday, April 14th, 2006. The School of Visual arts will select one artist from the applicants and provide the studio free of charge. The Moon and Stars Project will provide the airfare, accommodations, and a stipend of $500.
Now in its third decade, this internationally renowned program offers artists an opportunity to work intensively in a private studio, receive individual critiques from faculty, and attend weekly lectures given by guest artists, critics, and gallery directors. Each participant has exclusive use of a small studio located in School of Visual Arts' Chelsea Building. Faculty will visit the studios Mondays through Thursdays. Exposure to the New York art world complements this on-site residency program. The cutting-edge galleries of the Chelsea art district are within walking distance of the SVA studios. The program culminates in an open studios exhibition, which enables the participants to present their work to the public.
Applicants must submit their contact information, 20 slides or laser prints of recent works (painting, drawing, etc.), and a school transcript (if a student) and a CV.

Since 1982, Atlantic Center's residency program has provided artists from all artistic disciplines with spaces to live, work, and collaborate during three- week residencies. Located just four miles from the east coast beaches of central Florida, the pine and palmetto wooded environment contains award-winning studios that include a resource
library, painting studio, sculpture studio, music studio, dance studio, writer's studio, black box theater, and digital computer lab. Each residency session includes three master artists of different disciplines. The master artists each personally select a group of associates - talented, emerging/midcareer artists - through an application process administered by ACA. During the residency, artists participate in informal sessions with their group, collaborate on projects, and work independently. The relaxed atmosphere and unstructured program provide considerable time for artistic regeneration and creation. Atlantic Center for the Arts provides housing (private room/bath), weekday meals (by on-site chef), and 24 hour access to shared studio spaces with wireless Internet.

This project is a book publication of quickly realized greyscale notebook entries such as drawings, lists, diaries, field notes. Anything to be qualified as journal type of entry. The project is built on quickly realized and inspired poetics illustrating a direct correlation between the immediate thought with the inspired thought.

Artist in Residency Program in TURKEY
Project: The assigned artists will live for 15 days in a house renovated for this purpose in the village of Gölyazi. An environment for communication and sharing between artists will be created with the help of artistic presentations and workshops. Taking as a starting point the surrounding, projects will be realised and placed in different locations. The aim is to turn the island into an Artpark with the works that accumulates over the years in this way.
Place; Bursa,The village of Gölyazi on the island in the Ulubat Lake. A bridge connects the island to the mainland.

Atelier für bildende Künstlerinnen und Künstler in der Stadt Dübendorf
 
Die Stadt Dübendorf vergibt vom 1. Oktober 2006 bis 30. September 2007 zur Förderung bildender Künstlerinnen und Künstler ein Atelier.  
Eingeladen zur Bewerbung sind professionell arbeitende Kunstschaffende in den Bereichen Malerei, Skulptur und Neue Medien, die mindestens ein halbes bis maximal ein ganzes Jahr im städtischen Atelier wohnen und arbeiten möchten. Der Aufenthalt endet mit einer Ausstellung in der Stadtgalerie.  
Das Atelier steht Personen ab 25 Jahren unabhängig von Nationalität und Wohnsitz zur Verfügung. Voraussetzungen sind gute deutsche Sprachkenntnisse sowie die Bereitschaft und Lust, sich mit der Stadt Dübendorf und ihren Menschen auseinanderzusetzen. Über die Aufnahme entscheidet eine Jury.

Kultur Förderung zusätzlicher Projekte aus Mitteln des Hauptstadtkulturfonds
Der Vorsitzende des Gemeinsamen Ausschusses des Hauptstadtkulturfonds, Senator Dr. Thomas Flierl, und die Kuratorin des Hauptstadtkulturfonds, Adrienne Goehler, teilen mit: Der Gemeinsame Ausschuss des Hauptstadtkulturfonds hat in seiner Sitzung am 30. November 2004 die Bildung einer Fondsreserve beschlossen, die verwendet werden soll, um ggf. auch kurzfristig Projekte, die im besonderen kulturpolitischen Interesse des Bundes und Berlins liegen, fördern zu können. Für das Jahr 2005 wurde eine Fondsreserve von ca. 500.000,- Euro gebildet. Der Gemeinsame Ausschuss hat nunmehr beschlossen, die Fondsreserve 2005 für folgende Projekte zu verwenden: 1. Antrag des Kinder- und Jugendtheaterzentrums in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, Frankfurt/M., zur Durchführung des 8. Kinder- und Jugendtheatertreffens 2005 in Berlin: 130.000 € 2. Antrag der Berliner Festspiele für die Uraufführung der „Sinfonie X“ von Dieter Schnebel am 13. März 2005: 85.000 € 3. Antrag der literaturWERKstatt berlin, Dr. Thomas Wohlfahrt für ein Sonderprojekt zur „Erweiterung von lyrikline.org um drei Sprachräume“: 150.000 € 4. Durchführung des Operngastspiels des Israelischen Nationaltheaters in der Deutschen Oper Berlin: 200.000 € Gesamt: 565.000 € Eine Entscheidung des Gemeinsamen Ausschusses über die Förderempfehlungen der Jury zu Projekten für die Zwischennutzung 2005 im Palast der Republik wird für die nächste Sitzung am 25. Förderpreis 2005 der Stiftung Kunst und Kultur, Stadtsparkasse Zum neuenten Mal schreibt die Stiftung Kunst und Kultur der Stadtsparkasse Magdeburg im Jahr 2005 den Förderpreis für Junge Bildende Kunst aus. Neben dem 1-jährigen Stipendium in Höhe von €12.000 beinhaltet der Preis ein mietfreies Atelier, die mietfreie Nutzung einer Wohnung, Ausrichtung und Finanzierung einer Ausstellung und einen Katalog zur Ausstellung.
Bewerben können sich Bildende Künstler/innen aus dem In- und Ausland bis 40 Jahre. Künstler/innen aus Sachsen-Anhalt sind besonders eingeladen. Das Stipendiatenjahr beginnt am 1. Oktober.
