The Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, NY
seeks video work for upcoming screenings. These screenings will be part of the programming for such exhibits as Marie Antoinette: Styling the 18th Century Superstar (September 20, 2008 - January 11, 2009). All levels of artists encouraged to apply. Please include the complete work as the submission, no excerpts or clips. There is no limit to length or number of submissions. Please keep in mind the work will be viewed as a screening, not an installation, unless as special case can be arranged. Videos may relate to or address any theme. Please format in NTSC.

European Festival Research Project
announces 2 research workshops to take place in 2008
URBAN IMPACT OF ARTISTIC FESTIVALS
Helsinki, April 11-12 2008, hosted by the City of Helsinki Culture Office
and
FESTIVALS OF THEATER FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH
Moscow, October 31 - November 1, 2008, hosted by the Big Break, Moscow International Festival of Theater for Children
and invites researchers to submit proposals for inclusion in the workshops' programs.

Interested researchers should submit a 100-150 word summary of their presentation to Dr Dragan Klaic (Leiden University), Chair of the EFRP (draganklaic|a| gmail.com) by February 25 for the Helsinki workshop and May 15 for the Moscow workshop.
Researchers selected for the workshop program will be informed by March 3, 2008 (Helsinki) and May 20 (Moscow) and asked to prepare a 15 min oral presentation in English, based on a power point of a maximum of 10 slides. Power point presentations should be sent by March 31 (Helsinki) and September 1st (Moscow). Researchers agree that EFRP places their powerpoints at the EFRP public depository at the web site of European Festival Association.

The networking project "peace - utopia or real space?" taking part in October 08 is researching artistic work and practices which focus on creating peace.Idea is, not to only show artwork which visualizes war/terror and limitation but projects which try to implement and establish conditions of peace.
In the exhibition space we will present documentaries of past or ongoing
projects with the intention to open them up to a broader public and foster discussion, dialog and collaboration.
We invite artist and artistgroups to hand in theme related documentaries
of their work in form of written project descriptions,
books/catalogs/DVDs which deals with the following issues
* political and activistic approaches
* processes of decision making
* force/violence and its legitimization
* law free territories
* subject/subjectivity/intersubjectivity/alienation and borders of the body
* power of language

The call for participation is now open for the International Live Media Floor of Netmage 09 a festival aimed to exploremedia innovation within the context of electronic arts that will take place in Bologna from the 29nd to the 31st January 2009.
The Live Media Floor - main section of Netmage festival program - is an international platform to confront practices of generating and/or mixing images and sound ofevery type and format exploring cinematic and inter-media aesthetics.
Participation is open to projects that employ electronic, electroacoustic, analogue and cinematic means to produce visuals and sound.
The projects selected will be performed, single or multi-screen, for a duration of about 20 minutes each.

The Workshop Gallery, run by Podlaskie Stowarzyszenie Axis Mundi (non-profit ngo), is a budding gallery located in the center of Bialystok, dedicated to the exhibition and popularization of art, especially by emerging and up-and-coming artists.
