The Wall House foundation offers two periods of residence for emerging artists and
architects each year: from April until June and from October until December. The
residency is the Wall House itself, the iconic house designed by John Hejduk, which
has its own studio space.

How to apply
If you are an emerging artist or architect with a specific interest in themes connected
with designed space, particularly with the poetics of designed space, you
may apply for a period of residence. Applications need to contain at least a written
proposal of what you plan to work at during the period of residence, and a complete
resume (Curriculum Vitae) of yourself, including visual references of your work.
This resume should contain an overview of your work, your education, publications,
exhibitions, built work, et cetera. The proposal should be approximately 500 words,
in English, and should deal with any form of research on the poetics of designed
space (in the broadest sense of the words). The visual references can either be sent
in as pdf or jpg.
The residency period lasts a maximum of 3 months. Part of the period of residence
will consist of a (any) form of co-operation with other architects, artists or institutions
(eg. by giving lectures, master classes or starting a joint project) in Groningen.
The residency period will be concluded with a presentation of your work.
Deadlines for applications are June 1 and November 1 each year. Residents will
receive a monthly allowance.

The HES-SO Master in Fine Arts is jointly run by the three Swiss French speaking schools: HEAD - Geneva, ECAL - Lausanne and ECAV - Sierre. HEAD - Geneva, traditionally the largest visual art school in Switzerland, offers three of the five majors of this master. These various programmes create bridges though each one is designed as a highly individualised trans-disciplinary study platform defined by the work and projects of each artist or research group. Thus each orientation encourages the maturation of a personal work or a collective project already geared to the professional art scene and social reality.

an interdisciplinary project blending art and archaeology
the greek philosopher plato situated the utopian city of magnesia in crete. let us endeavour to recreate not his fabled city, but rather it's traces, either physical or virtual. what would pottery shards from magnesia look like ? magnesian-doric columns ? maps of the site ? we will create artifacts and a site of the imagination, a framework that blends art with archaeology, fiction with history, and the physical landscape of crete with philosophical consciousness.

Art All Around is an international design contest that will bring public
art to the Sprague tank farm in South Portland, Maine. The contest is open
as of March 25th, 2008 and will remain so until June 25th, 2008. Applicants
are asked to submit a design that will transform 8 tanks, plus an additional
8 tops into a piece of public art. In stage 2, the 9-person jury will
choose the designs and 5-semi finalist will win up to $10,000 each. After
public presentations, one winner will be chosen to receive an additional
$20,000. The goal of the Art All Around project is to stimulate the creative
economy and to strengthen the community through collaboration of the Arts and Industry sectors. This is organized by the Maine Center for Creativity, a non-profit organization, whose mission is to create high-visibility projects that promote the arts and stimulate the growth of creative
industries

Der Berliner Projektfonds kulturelle Bildung fördert Kooperationsprojekte, die für Kinder, Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene neue Zugangsmöglichkeiten zu Kunst- und Kultur schaffen.
Im Zentrum stehen Kooperationsprojekte, welche Erlebnisse mit den Künsten, mit ihren ästhetischen, intellektuellen und emotionalen Potenzialen, mit den aus den Künsten zu gewinnenden Genüssen und Herausforderungen ermöglichen. Wichtig ist, dass die Projekte Kinder und Jugendliche als künstlerisch Handelnde und Produzierende verstehen. Sie sollen besonders auch solche junge Menschen ansprechen, die erschwert Zugang zu kulturellen Bildungsangeboten haben.

This year for the first time will be presented as a satellite programme VIDEOHOLICA 2008 in the frames of the International Biennial AUGUST IN ART. VIDEOHOLICA 2008 aims to make the contemporary video art to the public with the chain of projections on public spaces, where it is less known. VIDEOHOLICA 2008 will present art works as by the good known artists as and by the young artists, who are working in this area.
All the applicants, who observe the rules and the deadline, will have admission to the jury, which will take a place in the earlier July 2008. After the careful selection the jury will
present few one hour programs, which will be shown in different public places in the Varna city. VIDEOHOLICA 2008 will take a place in August 2008 and will be separated to the following sections: video art, experimental movies and art document. The jury will make catalog by the first 15 movies (first 5 in every section).
Decisions are made by the 5 members VIDEOHOLICA 2008 jury, which is made up of artists and other arts professionals. The final results will be announced and sent to the applicants by e-mail approximately by the middle of July 2008.
