4. Triennale der Photographie Hamburg Triennale
Portfoliosichtungen 19. und 20. April 2008
Fotografen treffen hier Experten und Fachleute, Kuratoren und Art Direktoren aus aller Welt. Die Portfoliosichtung der 4. Triennale der Photographie Hamburg greift auf die über 10-jährige Tradition der Sichtungen des Freundeskreises der Photographie e.V zurück und ist damit eine der wichtigsten in Deutschland.
Die Portfoliosichtung bietet den teilnehmenden Fotografinnen und Fotografen einmalige Möglichkeiten zum Networking und qualifizierten Feedback - gestandenen Profis und Künstlern ebenso wie jungen Fototalenten beim Start ihrer Berufskarriere.
15 internationale Experten stehen den Fotografen in diesem Jahr für vorab geplante 20 Minuten-Gespräche zur Verfügung.
Am 1. April 2008, 24 Uhr ist Anmeldeschluss.

SIMULTAN04 - Video and Media Arts Festival
SIMULTAN04 - Video and Media Arts Festival will take place in Timisoara, Romania
between May 22nd -24th 2008.
Under the theme "Temporary Tactics", Simultan04 explores a conflict situation, a difficult cohabitation between the independent audio-visual works and the cultural, social and political context in which they are born.
"Temporary Tactics" wishes to highlight time and space connected "speculative" situations, the practice of acting and reacting, of making and creating, in the moment and in response to the stimulus of one's immediate environment.
SIMULTAN04 is open for submissions of innovative works which that make use of technology in a creative, ingenious way or are based on a peculiar, unusual story.
The video section is open to all video artists and not only, who can apply with narratives,
experimental videos, animations, vj-ing movies and motion graphics.
Those interested may apply with a maximum number of 2 video works, each having a duration that must not exceed 3 minutes.

THE BOURGES INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS 2008
THE SECTIONS
1. The Bourges International Competitions really gather three competitions called sections. Their specificities are dependent on the age of the candidates.
2. To choose the Section you wish to compete in, read under-mentioned the three Section's descriptive very carefully.

Die Eingabefrist für den 5. Pixelstorm-Award wird vom 31. März bis zum 22. April 2008 dauern. -Offered program:This two-week international workshop aims to use open hardware and open code tools to create prototypes for exploring image technologies and
mechanisms of perception.

Core themes: image technologies from their origins to the present: perspective, lenses, anamorphosis, panoramas, optical toys, magic lanterns, effects, optical illusions, etc., as well as projects that expand conventional notions of projection and screen: augmented reality, the use of projections on three-dimensional surfaces and physical objects, immersion environments, etc.
A maximum of 10 projects to be developed will be selected.

IM WEGE STEHEND V
Die Stadt Schwetzingen veranstaltet vom 31. Mai bis Ende August 2008 zum 5. Mal "Im Wege stehend". Gesucht werden 10 Künstlerinnen und Künstler aus dem süddeutschen Raum mit ihren Skulpturen und Plastiken, wie auch anderen Kunstformen, die sich poetisch, kritisch oder humorvoll mit dem öffentlichen Raum auseinandersetzen. Dabei werden subtile und intelligente Interventionen bevorzugt, die die alltägliche Wahrnehmung der Stadt ästhetisch auffrischen und so dem reinen Konsumdenken "im Wege stehen". Orte sind der lebendigste Bereich der Schwetzinger Innenstadt, die Achse zwischen Bahnhof und Rathaus, und eher versteckte Nischen am Rande der urbanen
Tretpfade.
Die vom künstlerischen Leiter des Kunstvereins ausgewählten 10 Werke werden einer Jury vorgestellt, die 1 bis 3 Preise im Gesamtwert von 3.000 € vergeben wird. Hinzu kommt ein Preis für den besten Nachwuchskünstler (bis 35 Jahre) in Höhe von 1.500 €. Jeder ausgewählte Künstler erhält eine Leihgebühr von 1.000 €. Transportkosten werden übernommen. Ein Flyer mit Stadtplan wird erscheinen, sowie ein Katalog.

LA MAISON JAUNE is a residency program initiated in 2007 by PATRICIA LOW CONTEMPORARY, Gstaad, Switzerland. In a hamlet not far from where Balthus has lived and worked all his life, artists will be hosted in a beautiful 18th century chalet called “La Maison Jaune”. There, facing the mountains, we hope they will find inspiration and renew Gstaad’s link with the great artists of our time.
The MAISON JAUNE residency program provides living and working opportunities for emerging international artists in all media of the visual arts (e.g. painting, sculpture, photography, performance, new media). The fellowship includes production costs up to CHF 3.000 per artist upon request.
The chalet which is located 10 minutes outside of Gstaad offers generous living spaces and working facilities for 3 artists at a time. The studio is next to the chalet in a barn. Artists are generally invited for a period of 4-6 weeks. The work created there will be exhibited in a show at the gallery or at La Maison Jaune shortly thereafter. Also, in an effort to record this unique artistic process, a book will be developed with a renowned publisher.
Applications:
The program is dedicated to international artists up to 35 years old or artists who have completed their university or college degree within the past five years (and are not currently enrolled).
