- annually - same dates The Rijksakademie Research Residency in Amsterdam is an international research and production place for talented, professional artists from all over the world. The Rijksakademie is more than a residency. It has extensive technical facilities, a library, artists’ documentation and art collections. In addition the Rijksakademie offers material basic facilities such as a studio, a work budget, mediation with accommodation and grants. There are some fifty studios where resident artists work for one to two years on research, experiments, projects and production. Confrontation with diverse cultures and advice by renowned international artists, exhibition makers, theoreticians and technical specialists promote the deepening, expansion and acceleration of artistic practice. Practical experience has revealed that a work period at the Rijksakademie has the greatest effect three to five years after graduation. Resident artists pursue every medium and technique: painting, drawing, graphics, photography, sculpture, video, film, sound and digital media. Links with other areas are also explored such as architecture and public space, theatre, music, literature and diverse scientific disciplines. The Triangle Artist's Residency Program provides free studio space to eligible artists for a six month period (Oct-Mar, April-Sept). Each artist's stay culminates in an Open Studio exhibition to which the general public is invited. Resident artists will also receive a materials stipend of up to $2500, and studio visits from critics, writers and curators. Artists are responsible for all other expenses, including housing, travel, and meals. The program begins in October and ends in September of the following year. Studios are located at 20 Jay Street in Brooklyn, NY. Artists have full access to their studios 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If accepted, artists must spend a minimum of 15 hours a week in the studios or will be asked to leave the program. Applicant must be a professional artist and not be enrolled in any degree programs. Artist's media may include painting, sculpture, digital art, mixed media, photography, and film and video. Applicants must be 18 years or older and demonstrate a need for a studio. It started from looking at the dictionary and wondering why some words are illustrated and others are not, then thinking it would be interesting to illustrate the whole dictionary, or all the object nouns...then organize them by shape. Extracting all, or most (aprox 9500), of the object nouns, now I am setting out to get them illustrated by as many different people as possible. studios for Styrian, Austrian and international artists and/or art theorists in the RONDO studio, Marienmühle With the support of the Styrian Provincial Government’s Cultural Section, from September 2007 onwards INSTYRIA Kultur Service GmbH will be running twelve artists’ studios on the RONDO/Marienmühle premises in Graz/Styria for Styrian, Austrian and international artists and art theorists. Within the framework of the studio programme, they will also be organising visits to the artists’ studios by gallery owners, curators and media representatives. Four of the studios have living quarters attached to them and will each be assigned for half a year. Eight of the studios will serve solely as workshops and will be assigned for one year. Styrian, Austrian and international artists and/or art theorists up to 35 years old are invited to apply for a studio. Artists will be selected by an independent expert jury. Incidental costs incurred through the free-of-charge provision of the studio and the living quarters are to be borne by the artist. These are in particular the operating costs (about € 2.80/m2 a month, the studio apartments being on average 60m2 and the studio workshops on average 40m2), the cost of materials, living expenses, travel expenses etc. ALLOCATION PERIOD , Studios with living quarters attached (term of 1/2 a year) September 2007 - February 2008 March 2008 - August 2008 Studios without living quarters (term of a year) September 2007 - August 2008 Your application should include a CV, examples of your work (Din A4 format) and a vision of what you hope to achieve during your use of the studio in Graz. Europa An die 10.000 qm stehen zur Verfügung, um Künstlern die Möglichkeit zu geben, ihre Skulpturen zu präsentieren. Bewerben können sich Künstler/innen aus ganz Europa. Die Ausstellung ist für alle Sparten künstlerischen Schaffens geöffnet. Die Skulpturen müssen für eine freie Ausstellung geeignet sein, von hinreichender Größe und stabil sein, sie dürfen nicht verletzungsgefährdend sein. Wenn die Kunstobjekte besteigbar oder begehbar sein sollen, so ist ein Nachweis der Standsicherheit zu erbringen; die bautechnischen Vorschriften sind einzuhalten. Auch in 2007 wird der Verein zur Förderung des Skulpturengarten Sonnenwald e.V. Kunstpreise in Höhe von 3.000,00 Euro ausschreiben. Die Staffelung ist: für den 1. Preis € 2.000,00 für den 2.
