Statement
Ich erzähle Geschichten, die zwischen Fakten und Fiktion angesiedelt sind. Somit entstehen poetische „Mythen“, imaginäre Welten und „erweiterte Geschichte“.
Meine Arbeiten nehmen die Form von Essayfilmen, fiktiven Dokumentarfilmen, Erzählperformances und Textarbeiten an.
I tell stories which are situated between facts and fiction. Different layers of time and "reality" mix in "contemporary myths" and re-interpreted history .
My work takes shape as essay-films, performative lectures and talks and work with text.

La civilisation horizontale
Ficticious documentary, HDV, 20:32 min. 2011
The video tells the story of a fictitious civilization on the basis of Bunkers and megalithic structures (Menhirs and Dolmen). This “horizontal civilization” arises by means of fake interviews, documentary takes (Bretagne) and a mythological background story. This “horizontal civilization” descended from the Neanderthals, who after their retreat underneath the earth have developed a particular culture with rituals and life forms. Their “ritualistic platforms” for worship of the “God of the Horizon” are known to us as Dolmen or Bunkers. In form of a poetical make-believe documentary, history and historiography are extended.

Documentary images and historical maps mingle into a poetical explanation of fate and society: the construction and deconstruction of society depends on the games of the gods as culture-producing element. A voice-off explains the „rules“ of the game and their applications on humanity. The mythological character of the story contrasts the pseudo-scientific descriptions, thus leaving the question of the real nature of the „gods“ or the controlling force of destiny.

Performance-Guided Tour through the Gemäldegalerie Neue Meister, Albertinum Dresden, 30 min., 3. Juli 2010
In my function as „official tour guide” I lead the visitors through the Gemäldegalerie Neue Meister of the re-opened Albertinum Dresden.

"Visite Surprise" Art of War
Performance in the exposition of Sophie Ristelhueber et Kees Visser

Appropriating the role of a spokesman of the „military association of the united Europe“, I explain the exhibited artworks from a martial point of view.
The narrative fiction turns the expected impartial explanations more and more into a speech pro-war, in which I describe absurd military maneuvers, territories, war on terrorism and the essential role of our "embedded artists": Visser's abstract paintings are placed into a paradoxically logical connection to the history of war photography, apt to leading us into interstellar wars.
