Homie - Berlin
Homie is a public project apartment space. It consists of a 10.3 square meter room in the apartment of its owners. Its intimate scale and architecture create a setting where perceptions of visitation/ residence, owned/for sale, and public/private are often in flux.
Homie opened in late 2005. It showcases the work of one artist per exhibition. With its invitation into the house, Homie attempts to create a synergy between community, domesticity, and a hedonistic vision of art. Openings are accompanied with homemade German treats such as Schmalzbrot, Hakepeter-Igel and Bier.
